“The Sun of the Eucharist is just beginning to rise — what will it be like when its influence shines like the noonday sun.” – St. Peter Julian Eymard

Founded and inspired by St. Peter Julian Eymard, Apostle of the Eucharist, the formation of the People’s Eucharistic League (PEL) unfolded. It is associated with adult and young adult men and women who share with the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament. The League may compose of lay people who: has the desire to dedicate oneself to Christ according to the ideals of the People’s Eucharistic League; has the physical, psychological and social ability to assume the responsibility of a true apostolate; and has the inner resources to grow as a person towards human and spiritual maturity.

The Associates (People’s Eucharist League members) nourish their spiritual life by a grace of prayer and communion with the Lord through the Blessed Sacrament exposed on the altar. The daily participation, if possible, in the Eucharistic Celebration and the time of Adoration done according to the teachings of St. Peter Julian Eymard, are two significant points in living the Eucharistic faith. Moreover, to deeply understand and appreciate the Blessed Sacrament, it is essential that they be introduced to the Eucharistic Mystery and Doctrine. Henceforth, the Associates will undergo its formation in prayer according to the charism of St. Peter Julian.

Inspirited by the Eucharist, the Associates’ ideal is to live the mystery of the Eucharist and proclaim its meaning and importance. They spend at least a total of one hour each week in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. They are encouraged to express in their prayers the acts of faith, adoration, thanksgiving, hope, love, reparation, and petition. Furthermore, the Associates desire to celebrate the Eucharist in truth and manifest God’s glory to the world thru their participation in the mission of the Church and their commitment to be a part of the renewal of their Christian communities.

It is our desire that through the living example of the Associates, more people will be encouraged to make the Eucharist as the center of their life.
