Parish Advent Recollection 2016

Advent Season is not only looking back at the birth of Jesus Christ in the manger but it is also looking forward to meet Jesus in His Kingdom. Advent Season is an invitation for spiritual awareness and an opportune time to put one`s heart, mind, and soul to rest in order to let the Holy Spirit enter into one`s life. It is also an avenue to reflect, to repent for the sins committed and to cleanse one`s conscience. In the Gospel of Luke, the apostles gathered together with Jesus. He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” Jesus would sometimes depart to the mountain to spend an entire night in prayer. And in the Gospel of Mark, Jesus went off to a solitary place where He spent time to pray. Jesus sees the essential need to rest and to make time for prayer despite all the things to be done.

In lieu of the spirit of Advent, the parish conducted an Advent Recollection last December 8, 2016 held inside the church. Evening Prayer was said at 5:15pm followed by the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 6:00pm. The talk was conducted at 7:00pm and Rev. Bryan Adona, SSS served as the resource person and speaker. Fr. Muriel, Uy, SSS and Fr. Froilan Briones, SSS were also available to those who would like to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

We are all invited to hear God`s call and to seek His healing grace and thereby attain a degree of spiritual renewal not only during the Season of Advent but in every day of our lives.
