Every month of May, the Catholic Church offers devotions to the Blessed Virgin Mary and thus held a month-long festival called “Flowers of May” which is popularly known as “Flores de Mayo”. This year marks another month of evangelization, prayer and other activities that our catechists prepared for all the children in the parish.

During latter days of the month of April, our parish catechists are doing all the preparations which includes the making of the modules for the daily cetechesis, the decoration of the AVE MARIA letters and materials for the other activities. The evangelization of children involves deep patience and understanding which must be mastered. Therefore, our youth volunteer catechists are given formation beforehand to prepare for the cetechism proper. Last April 20, 2016, the parish conducted a FDM ’16 Facilitator’s Orientation & Seminar given by our parish catechists coordinator, Sr. Ma. Marge P. Manabat, TMM which was divided into two sessions. The morning session was given for the orientation & seminar and the afternoon for recollection ended by a Eucharistic Celebration where they were sent forth by the presider as official Flores de Mayo Catechists for this year. There were 25 volunteers from all around the parish excluding the other volunteers who will assist the main catechists. The month-long activity started last May 2 and will end on May 31, 2016.

For the record, there are about 200 children who joined this year and more to come. We are indeed grateful for the blessing of children and parents as well who continues to encourage their kids to be closer to our God and our mother Mary. We are proud to have parishioners who aims to help their child grow in the faith and love of God.
